I write these on the tube, while my kids are at swimming lessons or in some other time-boxed section of the day.
Then I generate an image (mainly so I can play with Midjourney) and finally I post it here.
Sometimes people like and comment, sometimes people don’t.
Someone asked me last week if it’s discouraging when a post gets not reactions / responses.
It’s a fair question, I said, but the reactions aren’t the point. The point is just to write them. The value is in the doing.
I write to learn what I think about things. I write to force myself to be present for a few moments a day. I write to create and balance out all the consuming that I do.
If someone likes or replies to a post, great. If not, still great. It’s not the point.
Writing is like dancing. It doesn’t need a witness to have value.
The value’s in the doing.
